Innovations in Biomedical Sciences

This course is part of the UBC Future Global Leaders on-campus program for high school students ages 15-18. Combines morning classes and afternoon pre-university workshops. This course introduces you to the Biomedical Sciences, covering a wide range of topics from large-scale production of biopharmaceuticals (e.g., insulin), 3D bioprinting of human tissues (e.g., trachea and lab-/organ-on-a-chip models for drug screening), and cutting-edge applications such as CRISPR and stem cell engineering.
