This one-day facilitated Guided Autobiography workshop is an intensive writing experience designed to help participants begin writing their life stories through structured themes and carefully sequenced prompts.
Grounded in methods developed by Dr. James Birren, Guided Autobiography supports self-discovery, resilience, and connection by combining reflective writing with group sharing in a safe, respectful environment.
The workshop condenses elements of the traditional 6-week Guided Autobiography program into a focused, one-day format so participants can explore the process before enrolling in the longer course at UBC.
Participants are guided to write short autobiographical narratives that capture meaningful life experiences and turning points.
