Equity, Inclusion and Intercultural Leadership for Coaches

This program develops the awareness, analytical frameworks and practical approaches coaches need to build equitable and culturally responsive relationships. Participants examine how their own identities and professional positions influence their practice while learning to work thoughtfully across differences in culture, identity, and lived experience.

The courses are developed and facilitated by educators, coaches and practitioners with professional, scholarly and lived expertise in equity, anti-racism, intercultural learning, inclusive leadership and systems change.

This program is designed for practicing and emerging coaches and leaders who work with individuals, teams and organizations and want to strengthen their capacity to coach across differences in culture, identity, and lived experience.

It is particularly relevant to:

• ICF-credentialed coaches seeking Continuing Coach Education credits
• executive, leadership, career, team, wellness and life coaches
• internal organizational coaches
• consultants who incorporate coaching into their work
• human resources, organizational development, learning and development, and people and culture professionals
• leaders and managers who use coaching approaches with employees and teams
• emerging coaches seeking a foundation in equity, inclusion, anti-racism and intercultural practice

The total cost of the program is $2,335.

The program consists of three courses:

• Countering Biases and Microaggressions — 15 ICF Continuing Coach Education credits
• Understanding Intersectionality and Identity — 15 ICF Continuing Coach Education credits
• Leadership in Intercultural Contexts — 40 ICF Continuing Coach Education credits

Across the three courses, you will explore equity, inclusion, anti-racism, intersectionality, intercultural practice and inclusive leadership in relation to coaching. You will apply concepts and frameworks to coaching and workplace situations, reflect on your own positionality and practice, and exchange perspectives with fellow participants and facilitators.

You may register for each course individually as a standalone course or sign up for the full program. Participants who successfully complete all three courses in the program will earn a digital badge.

Equity, Inclusion, and Intercultural Leadership for Coaches

This part-time program consists of three facilitated online courses totaling approximately 70 hours.

The course activities are asynchronous, allowing you to complete them within established weekly timelines.

Each course has a start and end date, and you progress through the learning activities with a cohort of participants. Leadership in Intercultural Contexts also includes a scheduled one-on-one online consultation to discuss your personalized Intercultural Development Inventory results.

Courses are offered at scheduled times throughout the year. No program application is required; you register for each course individually.

Expected effort

Plan to spend approximately seven hours per week completing readings, reflective activities, assignments, online discussions and other course activities.

You are expected to log in to your course at least every other day. We recommend taking one course at a time when working or studying full-time.

• a reliable internet connection

Assessment

Courses are graded as complete/incomplete. You’re evaluated based on standards and competencies established by facilitators, program administrators and an advisory board.
