Experience daily student life, inside and outside of class
The UBC Future Global Leaders on-campus summer program offers a rich student experience beyond the classroom. Enjoy opportunities to connect with your peers, share ideas, try new activities and explore all that UBC has to offer. Whether you choose to live in residence or commute to campus each day, you’ll be part of a supportive community that helps you grow, gain confidence and make the most of your summer.
Learn, explore and connect
Outside of classes, spend time with your new friends sharing meals, exploring campus or taking part in a variety of social, recreational and learning activities.

Meals in the dining hall
Share meals and connect with new friends from around the world in the residence dining hall. Enjoy rotating menus, inclusive dietary options and a lively atmosphere that brings students together.

University prep lectures
Participate in informative sessions designed to help you thrive at university. UBC instructors and students share valuable tips and guidance on university applications, program selection, effective study habits, mental health and wellbeing, and more.

Social and recreational activities
Explore some of UBC’s amazing—and free—campus amenities. Sign up to visit the remarkable Beaty Biodiversity Museum or the Museum of Anthropology, go for a swim at the new aquatic centre or play a drop-in game of badminton, basketball or volleyball.

Special events
Join your peers at the fun-filled afternoon carnival, complete with games and prizes. Come together at the final graduation celebration to recognize your achievements and the new friendships and memories you’ve made.
Residence option
Experience living in a UBC student residence in your own single room! Hang out with new friends in the common lounge, share meals in the dining hall, participate in evening social activities—and even do your laundry together. Build independence and gain new skills as you experience university life—all with the support of on-site student life assistants who are available 24/7.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included and served cafeteria-style in the residence dining hall. Menus change daily and include vegetarian, vegan and Kosher options, among others. You can also purchase snacks at the many places to shop and eat on campus. Read more about accommodation and meals for residence students.

Evening student life activities
Take it easy in residence studying, playing a board game or watching a movie. Or join a fun activity like paint night, friendship bracelet making or karaoke! Use your UBC Rec card to access swimming, sports and more at UBC’s recreation facilities.

Weekend activities
Go on weekend excursions to some of Vancouver’s most scenic and cultural destinations, including Stanley Park, Grouse Mountain, English Bay and Robson Street. Exploring Vancouver alongside new friends is a truly unforgettable part of the program!
