Mandarin

Over one billion people speak Mandarin worldwide and here, in Vancouver, it is the third most spoken language after English and Cantonese. Learning to speak Mandarin, and gaining a deeper understanding and appreciation for Chinese culture, offers the potential not only to enrich personal connections with family, friends and colleagues, but also to help you create or strengthen business relationships in China, Asia and in Canada.

Our immersive courses are taught by experienced, native-speaking instructors and are designed to provide practical Mandarin conversation skills through cultural explorations. By speaking and interacting with your classmates in authentic and realistic scenarios, you can expect to build your vocabulary, improve your fluency and gain the confidence to apply your learning to any personal or professional goal.

Offered at a variety of levels, our courses may be taken individually or combined with Chinese Reading and Writing courses, to complete a credential. If you’re not sure where to start, read our overview of course language levels to find the appropriate option for your experience and skills.
