Japanese Beginner 1
Course
Learn to share information about yourself and ask basic questions of those around you in Japanese. Learn structure and vocabulary that allow you to function in everyday settings such as introducing yourself, discussing your family and your likes and dislikes. Begin to understand complex language structures in an immersion classroom setting while learning to speak primarily in the present tense.

Japanese Beginner 2
Course
Add to your basic Japanese vocabulary in everyday situations involving travel, food, shopping, transportation, family and business. In addition to improving your functional ability when speaking in the present tense, you begin to express yourself in the past and future tenses. Native-speaking instructors provide you with insight into the culture, traditions and etiquette of Japan. The Japanese writing system of katakana is introduced at this level.

Japanese Conversation Practice
Course
Build your Japanese fluency, vocabulary and grammatical awareness by practising speaking and listening with your instructor and classmates. Topics will change from term to term so you can repeat the course to continue developing your skills.
