Summer Pre-University Program for High School Students

This summer, experience a top-tier university with Future Global Leaders at the University of British Columbia (UBC).

Choose from a wide range of two-week non-credit courses taught by UBC professors and instructors at the stunning Vancouver campus. UBC Future Global Leaders includes the option to stay in a UBC student residence and a full calendar of social and cultural activities in and around Vancouver, a city renowned for its natural beauty, hospitality, and multiculturalism.

Designed for teens ages 15-18, this pre-university summer program helps you explore your passions and interests, make friends from around the world, and develop the skills you need for your future.

  • Academic Courses - Experience a university-level course taught by UBC professors and instructors, with other highly motivated students from across Canada and around the world. Develop your leadership skills with workshops on intercultural communication and global citizenship. In 2017 we offered over a dozen courses with topics from neuroscience to digital technologies to politics.
  • English Language Courses - Improve your English language skills under the direction of experienced English language teachers. Improve your fluency and accuracy by communicating about global themes like citizenship, climate change, and media and technology. Boost your confidence in speaking, reading, and writing through projects, debates, presentations, and guest speakers.
  • Pre-Varsity Sport Development - Take your skills to the next level with UBC varsity coaches. Discover what it takes to be a student-athlete in a high-performance university athletic program. Train and practise at top-notch campus sports facilities with Canadian and international students.
