Equitable Systems Design for Associates program

We must open the doors and we must see to it they remain open, so that others can pass through."

Rosemary Brown, Canadian politician

Theory without practice can’t support meaningful change. To fully engage in equitable systems design (ESD), we must practically engage in systemic change, anti-oppression, creating accessible space, decolonization and social justice on an ongoing basis.

This participatory Associateship program is for graduates or alumni of the UBC Certificate in Intercultural Studies, the UBC Certificate in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, the UBC Micro-certificate in Anti-Racism, the UBC Micro-certificate in Equitable Systems Design or the UBC Micro-certificate in Diversity and Inclusion. Graduates of the above programs who are emerging educators, facilitators, consultants, equity designers and practitioners, interested in inspiring cultural change by helping organizations and communities build capacity in equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) are invited to apply to be Associates at the Centre for Equitable Systems Design.

You could be the reason someone finally stops bearing the weight of hiding who they are or finally gets into the room where their important perspective was missing."
