UBC Micro-certificate

Inequities in our workplaces and communities, whether hidden or revealed, are a product of design. To address them, individuals and organizations must be willing to confront structural barriers with purpose and intention, and (re)design a system that centers inclusion and equity.
The UBC Extended Learning Centre for Equitable Systems Design (CESD) developed the UBC Micro-certificate in Equitable Systems Design (ESD) for leaders, managers, and staff from all sectors and departments who are interested in implementing equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) strategies within their organizations.
The ESD program is a participatory experience where learners work together to examine current EDI efforts, tackle systemic issues in the work place and design solutions to facilitate equity-forward improvements within their workplaces and communities.
- Format: 100% online, part-time and asynchronous
- Duration: Two required courses for a total of 75 hours of course work
- Cost: $3,500 plus a non-refundable application fee of $175
