This course can be applied to the UBC Certificate in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion and UBC Micro-certificate in Anti-Racism.
Many organizations have publicly announced their positions on issues of race, equity and inclusion in the workplace. Although these declarations are a positive step toward a more diverse and inclusive work environment, achieving inclusion and equity is a formidable challenge and an ongoing process.
Stereotypes, biases, prejudice, microaggressions and various forms of discrimination create toxic environments that undermine and insidiously impinge on those who live these experiences daily.
This course supports you in identifying barriers to inclusion and equity. Gain tangible steps, strategies and tools to build a safe, respectful and more equitable workplace. Understand how to foster collective accountability and responsibility, and implement meaningful and timely action toward such measures.
