Tuition Tax Receipts

Please note that Form T2202 replaced Form T2202A in 2019 and subsequent years.

If the program you are enrolled in is eligible for the T2202 Tuition and Enrolment Certificate, you will receive a notification by email in late February outlining how to obtain your T2202 tuition certificate. A T2202 can be used as an official statement for income tax purposes. Definitions of eligible part-time programs can be found here

You can claim the tuition fees for courses taken in the calendar year. To qualify, the fees paid to UBC Extended Learning must be more than $100 for the year.

Please refer to the Canada Revenue Agency for definitions and up-to-date information.

How to download and print your T2202 from your student profile

Please note: As of 2019, the Canada Revenue Agency requires your SIN be included on T2202 Tuition and Enrolment Certificates. In order to be able to download your T2202 form when it becomes available in February, you will need to add your SIN under Vitals under your profile.

If you already have a UBC Extended Learning registration account:

  • Login to your student account.
  • Enter your email address and password and then click "Login".
  • After logging in, you will see "Hi, [Your Name]" near the top right of the screen.
  • In order to download your T2202 form, you need to ensure your social insurance number (SIN) is included under Vitals in your profile. To check if your SIN is recorded in your profile, click on Edit Profile. Click on Add/Edit next to Vitals. If your SIN does not appear, click CHANGE VITALS to enter your SIN. Click SUBMIT.
  • Click again on "Hi, [Your Name]" and choose "My Reports".
  • On the "My Reports" page, click "T2202 Tax Receipts".
  • The default tax year should be the previous calendar year. Click "View Report". A new window will open to display the certificate as a PDF file. Clicking "View Report" the first time will create an original T2202 Tuition and Enrolment certificate. If you return to your online account later and click "View Report" again, it will generate a T2202 marked as duplicate.
  • If you forgot your password, please use the password recovery process to reset your password. You will be asked to provide the answer to a security question before you can complete this process.
