This individual advanced translation and research project is required to complete the UBC Award of Achievement in Spanish-English Translation. It offers students individualized guided research for an advanced translation project.
Students choose a specific topic in consultation with the instructor who will supervise the study. Topics may vary according to individual interests and professional goals. Students are encouraged to work in one of the following two modalities:
- An advanced practice in translation by means of a practicum/internship/volunteer work in a Canadian community-based agency or institution (according to availability);
- An advanced translation research project of a scientific or literary text. A major term paper will be required from the student at the end of this course to complete the Award of Achievement program in Spanish/English Translation.
Note: The dates for the final project are fixed by the coordinator in consultation with the student. Please register in the section below. Actual start and end dates for the project will occur sometime during this session.
