The purpose of this course is to introduce some of the basic principles of global politics in order to examine current global issues. The content of this course is, in part, dictated by international issues currently in the news. Issues include whether Vladimir Putin’s war directive towards Ukraine is genocidal, “the right of return”, redress and international law, the threat posed by global terrorism and the global political economy of aid and development.
Dr. ROBERT FARKASCH, PhD, is a faculty lecturer in the department of Political Science at the University of British Columbia where he teaches international political economy, international relations and terrorism studies.
