Build on what you learned in Introduction to Spanish Translation and improve your translation, writing and editing skills with a focus on technical writing and online communication. Apply the norms of clear and concise technical writing; develop bilingual skills in translating online content, websites, social media, computer-based training and e-commerce materials; and gain linguistic skills in analyzing semantic, pragmatic and textual aspects of technical and scientific discourse. Review specific SPN>ENGL and ENGL>SPN translation difficulties with a focus on comparative and contrastive phraseology for technical writing.
Note: Advanced Spanish Translation Parts 2 & 3 are not intended to be sequential. Each course offers different topics, exercises, texts and terminology. Students may take either one of the courses before the other.
Prerequisite: Spanish Translation - Part 1 (WT301) is required.
