The French you study in the classroom can be very different from the French you encounter in the real world. This intensive one-week course improves your ability to participate in spontaneous conversations in authentic situations. Taught entirely in French, this course focuses on communication and language function with grammar taught in support of communicative tasks. Our experienced, francophone instructors will teach you about contemporary and historic francophone culture from original sources such as websites, film, music and articles. You improve your conversation skills by participating in class discussions and small group activities. Morning language classes are followed by afternoon workshops where you put your new language skills into practice.
Prerequisite: French 9.
Note: Designed for high school students ages 15-18. Students will be divided into two groups. To keep class sizes small, we will only be accepting 30 students.
The format of this course is in-class summer institute.
