German Beginner 1

If you have little or no previous knowledge of German, this is the right level for you. You learn to share information about yourself and ask basic questions of those around you. You learn structure and vocabulary that allow you to function in everyday settings such as ordering food in a restaurant or asking for directions. You will begin to understand complex language structures in an immersion classroom setting while learning to speak primarily in the present tense.

Course Format

This course is offered in two formats: 100% online or in-class.

About Online Learning

Our online conversational language classes offer you a real-time virtual classroom where you can see and interact with your teacher and classmates. Each week, you login at a set time to your virtual classroom using our easy-to-use learning management platform, Canvas. Just like in a classroom, you do individual, pair and group work, ask questions and receive verbal feedback from your instructor. Outside of class, you can access handouts and other materials online at your own pace and rhythm. Expect a similar schedule to your face-to-face experience – minus the commute.
