Session 1: Start building your toolkit as you dive into Bitcoin and blockchain, exploring key components, capabilities and limitations. Discover what makes blockchain secure and tamper-resistant, and how it is connected to Bitcoin. Gain exposure to the history of Satoshi Nakamoto and the Blockchain Trilemma.
Session 2: Explore and define popular Altcoins and the utility that they offer in today’s marketplace. Build an understanding of how to read a Web3 Whitepaper including tokenomics, including active whitepapers that have been created by popular crypto companies.
Session 3: Explore the difference between crypto wallets, centralized exchanges and decentralized exchanges. Understand the pros and cons of each as a holding and trading mechanism. This is where you learn the steps to buy and sell crypto.
Session 4: Discuss IDOs (Initial Decentralized Exchange Offerings) and DApps (Decentralized Applications), and understand how they may cause disruption in the business environment. Investigate how established crypto companies are responding to the current business landscape.
How am I Assessed?
You’re assessed on your participation in online discussions and the application of what you learn to real-world examples (for example, creating accounts with specific crypto exchanges and wallets).

Course Format
This course is 100% online and instructor supported with real-time classes. Live instructor-led classes are held once a week (see Available Sessions for days and times). Attendance is strongly recommended, but classes are recorded for viewing later should you be unable to attend a class.
Expect to set aside approximately 3-4 hours per week to complete the coursework, including reviewing optional readings, applying what you learn to real-world examples, and attending the live sessions.
