Rosanna Hille has worked with people and organizations to develop their capacity locally and internationally for over 30 years. Inspired by her association with the Danish International Peoples’ College and the Folk School movement, Rosanna has a humanistic and participatory approach to learning and believes this can enhance global co-operation. Rosanna was the Education Director with the Co-operative Housing Sector in Canada developing non-formal community education programs and training instructors and facilitators. Then her professional focus shifted to building capacity and assisting grassroots leaders to succeed in locally initiated development projects in Africa, Asia, Latin and North America. Rosanna gained wide practical experience in project and non-profit management, project assessment and applied adult education locally, nationally and internationally as the Chairperson and later Executive Director of an International NGO Network active in 25 countries.
With a B.A. in English Literature and Fine Art (UBC), and a Master's Degree in Adult Education (UBC), Rosanna works with Susila Dharma International Association in the areas of communications, education programming, group facilitation, mentoring, project assessment, grant writing, and organizational and community development. Rosanna is also a partner in Hille-Magassa & Associates, a consulting firm specializing in diversity issues, intercultural communications, research, evaluation, capacity building and training. From 2005 to 2012 Rosanna has served on the Executive Board of the British Columbia Council for International Cooperation as secretary and co-chairperson.
