Michael Seear

Dr. Michael Seear first studied medicine at University of Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe). He was subsequently a district health officer at a remote rural hospital. In 1982 he moved to Canada and took postgraduate training in Pediatrics at Vancouver and then further fellowship training in Toronto in respirology and intensive care. He is currently a staff physician in the departments of respirology and intensive care at BC's Children's Hospital; he is also a clinical professor of medicine at UBC. Dr Seear has maintained his interest in international health by remaining involved with several overseas projects. In addition to developing the international health course at UBC, he has also published three books - The Pocket Pediatrician, A Manual of Tropical Pediatrics and An Introduction to International Health (2nd edition).
