Maureen Silcoff, BA, JD, has been in private practice as an immigration and refugee lawyer since 1988. She is a partner at Silcoff, Shacter and appears regularly at the IRB and in Federal Court.
Maureen is committed to advocacy for refugees. She is a past Member of the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB), and in 2012, she received a Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers (CARL) advocacy award. She is currently co-chairs the CARL litigation committee, and has been involved in constitutional litigation concerning refugee health care and the designated country of origin regime.
Maureen regularly speaks at conferences and community events about the refugee determination process, refugee health care, and access to justice.
