‘Naa-mehl, whose English name is Marcia Dawson, BA, is from the Gitxsan and Dzawada'enuxw Nations. She has worked with First Nations communities at local, provincial and national levels for more than 20 years. Her roles have included band manager, program administrator and policy analyst. As a consultant, she has provided expertise in governance, health, child welfare, social development, education and early childhood development.
In addition to a bachelor of arts in political science with a minor in Indigenous studies, Marcia holds a diploma in public sector management, and a certificate in administration of Aboriginal governments. She is currently working on completing a master of arts in leadership from Royal Roads University.
