Lidia Varbanova

LIDIA VARBANOVA, PhD, is an experienced consultant, educator, researcher, author, entrepreneurial coach and project manager who has done work in over 60 countries. She is a full-time professor at the National Academy of Theatre and Film Studies in Sofia and regular visiting professor at the University of Arts in Belgrade.

Her portfolio focuses on strategy, policy development, entrepreneurship and innovation, management, organizational development and online technologies, with a special emphasis on arts, culture and creative industries. Lidia has held permanent and visiting professorships in prominent universities and training centres in Europe and Canada, and has received a number of distinguished awards, including the Dragan Klaic European award for excellence in teaching and the Fullbright Fellowship.

Lidia is an internationally acclaimed conference speaker and moderator, and an active member of several professional networks in Canada and Europe. She is an external evaluator for the European Commission Programmes Erasmus+ and Horizon 2020, and is involved in Kamenov House for Creative Thinking, an authentic place for artists, cultural managers and academia to think, create or hatch a new idea in a beautiful rural environment.
