Recently retired as Director of the Centre for Intercultural Communication, Helena Hensley has an M.Ed. from the University of Washington and over 30 years experience in international education, language training, curriculum development and project management. She started her international experience in the Peace Corps in Micronesia and went on to live and work in Greece, Iran, China and Singapore. She worked for 15 years as Manager, International Education at Langara College in Vancouver, BC where she was actively involved in the College's internationalization process. She was chair of the BCCIE (British Columbia Centre for International Education) Internationalization and Professional Development Committee, sat for three years on the Governing Council of SIETAR (Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research) International and was a founding member of SIETAR BC.
