Geoff (BSN, MIPH) is a registered nurse with more than 25 years’ experience in hospital and community-based care. His international heath experience began in the mid-90s providing humanitarian assistance in East Africa. He has subsequently worked as a technical advisor with NGOs in Southeast Asia on initiatives related to community health, substance use and HIV prevention among marginalized urban populations. He currently works as a consultant in the Asia region focused on HIV prevention, testing and linkage to care among key populations.
As a lifelong learner, Geoff’s undergraduate degree in nursing has been complemented by post-graduate qualifications in midwifery and tropical nursing, and a master’s degree in International Public Health. The approach that he brings to his work and facilitation within the Certificate in International Development is grounded in social justice and the social determinants of health.
