David M. Hoffman is a researcher at the Institute of Educational Research at the University of Jyvaskyla, Finland. His interests include intercultural communication, international comparative higher education and international migration and ethnic relations. David was the first program coordinator of the MA program in intercultural communication at the University of Jyvaskyla, as well as the EMICC Eurocampus network, an intercultural communication program encompassing nine European Universities.
David’s instruction ¨C in person and online ¨C occurs in Finland, France and Canada, focusing on research methods, intercultural communication, migration and higher education-related topics. David has published on a wide range of issues
in the fields of his specializations and has presented his research to audiences in several countries. David earned his bachelors degree (Justice) at the University of Alaska (Anchorage campus) and his MA and PhD degrees (Social
Sciences/ Social and Public Policy) at the University of Jyvaskyla. He has lived in Jyv?skyl?, Finland with his spouse, Tiina, for the past 15 years and they are currently busy raising their two bilingual, bicultural sons, Ville (12) and Veikko (8).
