Lily Gu, MEng, MEd, has been with UBC since 2005. She currently oversees the UBC Extended Learning translation and interpretation programs, and is responsible for curriculum development, marketing, recruitment, course scheduling, staffing, program evaluation and supervising program delivery. Lily also oversees marketing, recruitment, and enrolment for some pre-university programs.
Prior to joining UBC, Lily completed a master’s degree in computer engineering and worked for six years as a technology consultant and trainer for an international IT company in Beijing, China.
Lily also holds a master’s degree in adult education from UBC, where her research focus was on the design and implementation of e-learning, particularly in exploring ways to use technology in education. She completed the UBC Certificate in Intercultural Studies and UBC Certificate in Translation and Interpretation for Business (Chinese/English), and is a member of Society of Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia (SITBC).
Lily is passionate about contributing her experience and expertise in adult education, program management, and intercultural communication to her many roles at UBC Extended Learning.
