Managing Director, Student Engagement and Marketing
Tanya Reid is Managing Director, Student Engagement and Marketing for UBC Extended Learning. A UBC alumnus (BA Psych), Tanya began her career at Go Direct Marketing working for clients such as the Vancouver Hospital Foundation, Scott Paper and TELUS. In 2000, she moved to London and worked for Proximity London, one of the largest integrated marketing agencies in the United Kingdom, for clients such as British Telecom and Sainsbury's. While at Proximity London, projects she directed won a Precision Marketing award and the prestigious IPA Effectiveness award.
Tanya moved back to Canada and joined UBC in 2004. She directs an in-house marketing team and works in collaboration with program directors on program concept development and marketing strategies. Tanya oversees the execution of student recruitment and retention and has an interest in the intersection of IT and marketing to help drive business objectives. Under her direction, program campaigns and marketing projects have won numerous marketing awards.
Recently she has provided marketing leadership to the launch of a number of applied master's degrees at UBC as part of the Career and Personal Education initiative.
